Our Story at Canopy Consulting
How We Started
Canopy Consulting was founded by professionals whose careers have been shaped by environments where failure is not an option—U.S. government service, aerospace and space programs, advanced aircraft systems, and emerging quantum research. In these domains, risk is never eliminated; it is identified, engineered against, and continuously managed.
That same mindset comes from our skydiving background. Skydiving is not about recklessness—it is about preparation, redundancy, discipline, and knowing exactly when and how to deploy the right controls. Every jump relies on rigorous planning, tested systems, clear procedures, and contingency planning. Compliance works the same way.
We apply this risk-based philosophy to cybersecurity, controlled research, and government trade compliance (EAR/ITAR).
